At Atelier85 Antiques, we specialize in unique, often one-of-a-kind vintage and antique objects. Due to the age, rarity, and often fragile nature of these pieces, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges.
We want you to feel confident about your purchase. Before placing an order, please take the time to read the complete description, review all photographs carefully, and consider the stated dimensions and condition of the item. Photographs form an important part of each item’s description and condition report.

I think “Because Every Antique Is Unique, All Sales Are Final” strikes the right balance. It immediately tells the customer the policy, but it leads with the reason rather than a prohibition.
Condition & “As Is” Sales
All vintage and antique items are sold as is and as described.
We make every effort to examine and describe each piece accurately and to provide detailed photographs showing its condition. Antique and vintage objects have histories, and signs of age and previous use form part of their individual character.
Depending on the item, these may include natural wear, patina, tarnish, fading, small surface marks, age-related imperfections, previous repairs, or other evidence of use. We disclose significant condition issues that we observe and photograph them whenever possible.
By completing a purchase, you acknowledge that you have reviewed the item’s description, dimensions, condition information, and photographs and understand that you are purchasing a vintage or antique object rather than a new item.
Damaged in Transit or Incorrect Items
Our no-return policy does not apply when an item arrives damaged in transit or when you receive an item different from the one you ordered.
Please inspect your purchase immediately upon delivery. If your item arrives damaged, or if there is a discrepancy with your order, contact us within 24 hours of delivery.
Please include your order details along with clear photographs of the item, the shipping box, packing materials, and any visible damage. Please retain all original packaging, as the shipping carrier may require it when processing an insurance claim.
We will review the circumstances and work with you to resolve the issue appropriately.

We encourage questions, particularly when purchasing fragile, valuable, or unusual antique objects.
If a measurement, color, material, condition detail, provenance, attribution, or other aspect of an item is important to your purchasing decision, please contact us before ordering. We would much rather provide additional information beforehand than have you purchase an object that does not meet your expectations.
Please also keep in mind that colors can vary slightly depending on lighting, photography, and individual monitor or device settings.
Sales Tax, Duties & International Orders
Listed prices exclude any sales tax, customs duties, import taxes, or other government charges that may apply to your purchase.
The buyer is responsible for applicable customs duties, import taxes, and related fees imposed by the destination country. We are not responsible for customs delays or charges assessed by customs authorities.
A $45 handling fee applies to orders shipped outside North America.
Questions Before You Buy
Every antique has its own history, condition, and individual characteristics. We want our descriptions and photographs to give you as much information as possible before you make your decision.

One change I made deliberately: I would not say that every minor imperfection is automatically expected and therefore excluded. Your listings are detailed, so “as is and as described” is stronger and fairer language. It tells buyers they need to accept disclosed age and condition while still preserving a remedy for genuine shipping damage or receiving the wrong object.
