Vintage Chinese Famille Rose Vase Pair Millefleur Qianlong Mark 6.5”
A decorative and well-matched pair of Chinese Famille Rose porcelain vases, featuring the classic combination of figural panels and a dense millefleur floral ground. These pieces present beautifully as a pair, designed in a mirror-image composition, where the seated figures face inward when displayed together.
Each vase is formed in a traditional baluster shape with a gently flared neck, richly decorated with a “thousand flowers” (millefleur) pattern in vibrant enamel colors. The central reserves depict elegant female figures seated in a garden setting, rendered in soft pink and white tones, framed by shaped cartouches with gilt accents. Small details, including floral sprays and delicate insects, add movement and charm to the composition.
The base carries a red seal mark reading “Qianlong Nian Zhi” (乾隆年製), a reference to the Qianlong period of the Qing dynasty. As is typical with many pieces of this type, the mark functions as a tribute or decorative mark rather than a period indicator, and the style, decoration, and execution suggest production in the mid-20th century, most likely for the export market.
Famille Rose porcelain of this period was produced in Jingdezhen, long recognized as the center of Chinese porcelain production, and was widely appreciated for its decorative appeal and finely detailed enamel work. While not of the earlier imperial period, pieces such as these remain popular for their color, composition, and versatility in display.

Condition
Good vintage condition.
There is visible wear to the gilt rim and minor surface imperfections consistent with age and use. No major damage observed. Both vases present well as a pair.
